Winter Cleanse

Do you dread this time of year because of the endless parties and family gatherings that result in your over-eating and gaining weight?Would you like to start this season just a bit lighter this year?Would you like to learn strategies for eating at those parties this year?Be healthy NOW!Beginning at your convenience, Pam is offering a one week cleanse, individualized for you, which you can start at any time. Topics will include how to eat as well as what not to eat during the cleanse, as well as strategies for events such as parties. This cleanse is offered in two ways:

  • In person:  Meetings will be held at Pam’s office near downtown Asheville by appointment only.
  • Online:  Meetings will be offered online by appointment only, at a time that is mutually arranged.  Call in information will be provided once you are signed up.

Both options come with telephone/email support:   As my schedule allows, I will be glad to take calls when you are having a “moment” with the cleanse process.  Those times when you feel overwhelmed, need some encouragement, or just need to vent about your desire to have a donut!  If I am not available, just leave me a message and I will call you back promptly.  Just know that I turn off my phone when I am in session.  You can email me any time of the day or night and I will respond between the hours of 9am and 9pm.

Cost of the week long cleanse is $100.  If you chose to use them, supplements to support your cleanse process are available at an additional cost.  These herbs/homeopathic supplements would be streamlined to your personal situation by Pam Hauser, RN, LMBT.  Green tablets and protein powder are also available if you wish to use these through this process.If you have any questions about the cleanse process, or suggestions for topics that you would like to see covered, please email Pam at pam@phoenixmassageofasheville.com, or call her (828) 279-8636.Class size is limited to 10, and pre-registration is required.  A deposit of $50 is necessary to reserve your place.  You have the option of paying the full amount up front, which allows you a $10 discount, or you can put down the $50 deposit to reserve your space and then pay the balance of $50 at the first meeting.  If payment is an issue, contact Pam directly for payment arrangements.

First meeting: Introduction to cleansing
I request that you do a food diary for a week before the cleanse begins to establish your baseline relationship with food. I will discuss foods to eat, foods to avoid, exercising during the cleanse getting clear and setting goals.  Weigh-in highly recommended, but optional.  The focus throughout the week will be on being healthy and the weight loss will happen easily.  Emotional eating will be covered as well as what your metabolic rate is and what affects it.
The cleanse begins by cutting out “junk” foods, fried foods, everything that comes in a box or package (rice can be excepted here if it is brown or wild rice) and drive-through window purchases.  The focus will be on eating food as close to the way the earth provides it as possible. If you want to “take it up a notch” you can go to eating only raw fruits and vegetables, but this is up to you. It’s better to do a gentle clease that empowers you, than one that stresses you.
Exercise: Emphasis is on gentle weight bearing exercise,

After one week: Closure on cleanse process. 
Weigh-in highly recommended, but optional, to determine progress.  It is easily possible to lose 2-4 pounds during this week long cleanse, depending on how serious you are about this process, your current state of health and how much you want to lose.    Focus will be on life long strategies for healthy living/eating.  It is not a good idea to go from eating only raw fruits and vegetables to having a meat lover’s pizza and a few beers!  Easing back into a healthy lifestyle will be the focus this week.  We will also discuss more ideas on party strategies.
