Pam Hauser, RN, LMBT is the owner of Phoenix Massage, LLC. Pam has ten years’ experience in massage therapy and is certified in Neuromuscular Therapy, Temporal Mandibular Joint Therapy (TMJ), and Breast Reconstruction Massage Techniques. Pam’s background is in nursing, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — most of her experience is in Intensive Care Units. She also served in the United States Army as a nurse. She combines this medical background with massage techniques in order to assist in restoring balance in the body.

CranioSacral Therapy

CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.

Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.

TMJ (Temporal-mandibular Joint)

Some people experience clicking of the jaw when chewing or talking. This can result when the complicated joint of the jaw is out of balance. It is the only joint in the body that must coordinate the movements of two joints together. This imbalance can result in pain in the jaw, clenching the teeth, grinding the teeth, headaches, insomnia and more. Pam uses both Neuromuscular Therapy as well as CranioSacral Therapy to allow the body to regain balance in this most complex joint of the body.

Breast Reconstruction Massage

Breast Reconstruction Massage techniques are many different modalities of massage that work to restore balance once an individual has had breast surgery. Mastectomies, augmentations and reductions many times result in tight muscles, limited movement and pain for years following the surgery. These techniques were taught by an instructor who had bilateral mastectomies with reconstruction. The work is gently done, with the breast draped at all times.

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy

The proper functioning of the lymphatic system is critical to our body’s ability to drain fluids, detoxify, regenerate tissues, filter out toxins and foreign substances, and maintain a healthy immune system. It’s a complex system comprised primarily of lymph vessels and nodes working in cooperation to accomplish these tasks.

The LDT process involves the use of subtle manual maneuvers to aid in the recirculation of the lymphatic flow. Specifically, the therapist works with flat hands, using all the fingers to simulate wavelike movements. The pressure applied is generally around five grams, or the equivalent weight of a nickel.

Please note: Pam is NOT certified in the management of Lymphedema. She can only work on people who have intact lymphatic systems and may not work on those who have had lymph nodes removed.
